A drunken miscreant, reformed floozy chaser, a confirmed masturbator with a high IQ and low morals. Robert E. Brown is cursed with the common man’s title and a familiar face that every person wants to place. The cross he believes he bears fits nicely into the niche left by the chip on his shoulder and he thinks he will not be forgotten.

Non-award-winning photo montage artist & renowned tap dancer Robert E. Brown pushes the visual envelope to it’s breaking point with his ambitious and overwhelming photomontage prints. Brown graduated from the University of New Mexico with a BFA and a background in printmaking. He was an early member of the Basement Films collective, the Black Family collective, the Muse Gallery and was the founder of the now defunct Family of Shame subversive arts conglomerate.

Brown has exhibited in Philadelphia, New York and Washington D.C. His work is in several collections. He was  a guest lecturer at Konstfack University in Stockholm in 2006 and was the subject of a reality television pilot in 2008. Brown is also the author of 3,600 unread haiku poems, and the unwritten novel “Pierre the Feisty Rodeo Clown vs. the Wrestlers I know.”

In 2009 Brown founded the digital magazine Swellco & Swellco.
